Terms of Service
Last updated: April 14, 2026.
These terms govern your use of CharterBid at boatcharterbid.com. By creating an account or posting a charter request you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What CharterBid is
CharterBid is a reverse marketplace that connects travelers with independent, verified boat charter operators. Customers post charter requests; operators respond with bids; customers select the operator they want to book with. CharterBid is not a charter operator — we do not own boats, employ captains, or carry passengers.
Your agreement is with the operator
When you accept a bid, the resulting charter contract is between you and the operator. CharterBid facilitates introductions and messaging but is not a party to your trip, does not guarantee any operator's performance, and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any charter. Always verify the operator's credentials, insurance, and licensing before paying.
Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You're responsible for anything that happens on your account. Keep your password private.
- One person per account. Don't share logins.
- We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or harm the marketplace.
Operator obligations
If you register as an operator, you represent that:
- You hold all required licenses, permits, and insurance for the charters you bid on.
- Your boat, crew, and safety equipment meet applicable regulations.
- Your bids are accurate representations of the service you'll deliver.
- You'll honor winning bids in good faith.
Fees
Posting a charter request is free. Operators currently pay no listing fee; a flat $50 referral fee applies to successful bookings after the operator's first two trips. Fee structure may change with notice on this page.
Payments, cancellations, refunds
Payment terms, deposits, cancellation policies, and weather-based rescheduling are set by each operator and spelled out in their bid. Read those terms before accepting a bid. CharterBid does not hold payments or issue refunds on behalf of operators.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent requests or bids.
- Harass, defame, or discriminate against other users.
- Use the messaging system for spam or unrelated solicitation.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse the platform.
- Use CharterBid to facilitate illegal activity.
Content you post
You keep ownership of any content you post (request details, messages, reviews). You grant CharterBid a license to display that content on the platform so the marketplace can function.
Disclaimers
CharterBid is provided "as is". We make no warranties about uptime, accuracy of operator information, or the outcome of any trip. Your use of the service is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, CharterBid is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or from any charter you book through it.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use CharterBid after changes means you accept the updated terms.
