CharterBid ("we", "us") operates boatcharterbid.com and related services. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email boatcharterbid@gmail.com.

Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run the marketplace:

  • Account info. Your name, email, role (customer or operator), and — for operators — company name and operating regions.
  • Charter requests. Trip details you post: departure/destination, date, guest count, budget, and any notes.
  • Bids and messages. Bid amounts, operator details, and messages sent between customers and operators inside CharterBid.
  • Usage data. Anonymized analytics (page views, clicks) via Vercel Analytics — we do not sell or share this.
  • Cookies / local storage. Used to keep you signed in and remember your theme preference. We do not use third-party ad cookies.

How we use it

  • To operate the marketplace — matching requests to operators, delivering bids, enabling messaging.
  • To send transactional email (bid notifications, booking confirmations, reminders). You cannot opt out of transactional email for active requests; you may delete your account to stop all email.
  • To improve the product — understanding which features are used and what breaks.
  • To respond to support requests.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
  • We do not share your contact information with operators unless you choose to message them.
  • We do not run third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels.

Third-party services

We use a small set of vendors to run the site. Each receives only the minimum data needed:

  • Supabase — database hosting (stores your account and charter requests).
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Vercel — application hosting and anonymized analytics.

Your choices

  • Access / correction. You can update your profile at any time while signed in.
  • Deletion. Email boatcharterbid@gmail.com to delete your account and associated data. We'll confirm within a few business days.
  • Marketing email. If we ever send optional marketing email, every message will include an unsubscribe link.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data — passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and access is limited. No internet service is perfectly secure, however. If you believe your account has been compromised, email us immediately.

Children

CharterBid is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any updates here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be announced by email to active accounts.
