Maho Bay
Sea turtles in shallow water — probably the best family snorkel in the USVI.
Two-thirds of St. John is National Park, which means some of the most protected, pristine water in the Caribbean. Charters depart from Cruz Bay, Coral Bay, or across the channel from Red Hook.
St. John is smaller and quieter than St. Thomas — and for a lot of visitors, that's exactly the appeal. Trips here emphasize snorkeling, beach-hopping, and slow days rather than covering ground. Most captains will suggest 3–5 stops across a full day.
Popular itineraries: Cruz Bay ferry dock → Honeymoon Beach → Trunk Bay → Maho Bay → Waterlemon Cay, or south-side runs to Salt Pond, Reef Bay, and Coral Bay with a stop at Lime Out.
